Put in some pedal time at the Ultimate Cycle Challenge (cancer research fundraiser). Most of the people were on bikes. Meanwhile, we were pedaling a bar with custom built rollers. Classy. Afterward, I spent some time in the parking lot freezing, until my balls turned into a vagina, and shot some longer exposures. rjplab.tumblr.com/

When my friend and I went back to his house, there were feathers all over the street, and throughout the yards. His dog snapped the neck of this chicken that had been wandering the neighborhood. We decided to eat it. Looked up directions on how to clean and butcher a chicken on the internet. It was ridiculous, but we didn't see the point in wasting it.

I don't think I'll be on here as much. Mostly here: 500px.com/RLH And here: rjplab.tumblr.com/ --- P.S. I put this photo, along with some others, into a little series, of sorts... here: efbtps.blogspot.com/2012/03/random-squares-i-do-not-feel-...

The most dangerous sport . . .

The most dangerous sport . . .

After Draco passed by Lake Michigan with winds of 60 mph from the north last Friday, I made my way to Grand Haven to see the waves. It was almost dark when I noticed a lone kite surfer on the lake. With waves of 6 to 10 feet behind both piers to the north and almost dark, this guy takes home either the bravery or the stupidity awards! I report, you decide . . . . . . The south pier at Grand Haven MI. from last Friday with 40- 50 mph winds from the north on the back side of winter storm Draco! The coast guard no longer uses the catwalk to reach the lighthouse, since the lights are automated now. The spray was not fog, but blowing water from the waves in the Grand River channel! Starry Night

Starry Night

Taken on the night of the Geminid showers, but I was not able to capture any trails before the clouds (see the right corner of the photo) obscured any chance of a good view. lots of adjustments on this one, but I rather like it.

The backside of Draco . . .

With Draco missing most of the lower peninsula of Michigan with its heavy snow, it did manage to whip up Lake Michigan with 50 to 60 mph winds from the north! This is the southern pier at Grand Haven, where the brownish waters of the Grand River flow into the blue waters of the big lake. The northern breakwater just slowed down the water a little! Now I know exactly how it feels to be on the Weather Channel with hurricane force winds, trying to get a good picture without a tripod! Have a great weekend Facebook and Flickr friends! And a Merry Christmas to all of you!! Facebook
