Eastern Grey Screech Owl
This little female owl was also injured by striking a car, and making her blind in the right eye. This species exists in two color phases, grey and red. This bird was probably only 8 to 9 inches tall!

No closer!
The Great Horned Owl seemed to be a little more calm than in my previous picture of her, but the eyes and ears seem to make her look very alert!

Can you see me?
Here is the little Eastern Grey Screech Owl placed in a natural dead tree setting. Can you say the word "camouflage"?

Barred Owl
This larger owl is quite common in Michigan forests. Again, this male was injured by flying into a car and is blind in the right eye. The markings on this owl's face gives the impression of a very large head!
